Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - After peaking in early November, COVID-19 activity continues to trend downward in Olmsted County and across much of the state.
The weekly update from Olmsted County Public Health shows there were 368 new COVID-19 cases identified in the county last week. That is almost 500 fewer cases than were reported on November 9 as the surge in the pandemic was hitting this region and is the lowest weekly count reported since October 19th. Despite the drop, public health officials note the spread of the virus remains elevated in the Rochester area
Minnesota health officials have given the green light to hospitals, healthcare systems, and other organizations administering COVID-19 vaccine shots to provide the vaccine to broader categories of Minnesotans.
