An Indianola man was charged for the death of a 13-year-old boy following a crash in October in which the boy was the driver.
Joe Dale Romine, 52, was charged with murder in the second degree after he allegedly allowed a 13-year-old boy on Oct. 5 to drive a truck from McAlester to Indianola âwhich involved conduct that created what a reasonable person would realize was an immediate and extremely high degree of risk or death to another person,â according to documents filed in Pittsburg County District Court.
Romine is also facing an alternative charge of murder in the second degree â felony murder âby committing the felony of child neglectâ by causing the child to drive the truck from McAlester to Indianola being only 13 years old âalthough it was done without any premeditated design to effect the death of any particular individual,â court documents state.
