Earlier today, just after we ran the story about its pending arrival, BMW Malaysia officially introduced the G12 740Le xDrive M Sport in the country. Like the 740Le xDrive Design Pure Excellence that went on sale here in 2019, the M Sport version arrives as a locally-assembled CKD model.
The particular route introduces a M Sport package containing equipment worth RM25,000 to the plug-in hybrid. Externally, there’s an M Sport aerodynamic package, which includes a new, more aggressively-styled front bumper with larger air intakes and an M-specific kidney grille, in which the side sections of the kidney struts and air flaps are done in black, while the front side of the kidney struts is finished in satinised aluminium.

BMW Malaysia is set to introduce a new variant of the G12 7 Series LCI in the country, with a teaser hinting at the arrival of the 740Le xDrive M Sport version in showrooms this week, specifically from tomorrow. As is the case with the 740Le xDrive Design Pure Excellence, which has been in the market since 2019, the M Sport version will go on sale here in locally-assembled CKD form.
While the pricing hasn’t been revealed, the word on the grapevine says that it should be around RM30k more than the Design Pure Excellence, which presently retails for
Cabin comfort
While the car s exterior design may divide opinion, one can t but admit that the M440i s interior is as good as they come. It is well laid out in typical BMW fashion, and every knob and dial is within easy reach. It s a space that works, and it entices the driver to engage with it.
Once inside, you get the idea that the cabin has been designed with sporty outlook on life. The steering wheel is brought over from the automaker s M parts bin and features the familiar M logo at the bottom end. Behind the steering wheel are two shift paddles with which drivers can change gears manually with. The grippy steering wheel fits snugly in one s hands, and it is neither straining nor cumbersome to reach a finger behind each of the paddles.

Want a BMW 7 Series that can rival a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class? Well, say hello to the new 7 Series Two-Tone special edition. Unveiled for the first time at the Auto Shanghai 2021, the flagship sedan is finished in a bespoke Cashmere Silver/Aventurine Red metallic paint, and it is based on the top G12 M760Li xDrive variant.
Just 25 units of the highly exclusive model will be made, all of which are reserved for customers in China. No pricing nor further details regarding its equipment have been made public, but based on the set of photos that were released, the car appears to be fully decked out.
