I think it s a common practice to continue referring to something by a former name if it had that former name for a very long time.
Also, when you re giving directions, it just might be easier to use that older, more familiar name. I mean, what difference would it make if the goal is to get someone from Point A to Point B.
There are streets and landmarks/businesses in Owensboro that have changed names for various reasons and I still hear folks refer to them by former names.

Human nature. It happens. And some that I ve noticed don t really even HAVE an official name. It s just that the business that previously occupied said location is no longer there and won t be back. You ll see that example below
Sweet 5-Year-Old W/Cystic Fibrosis & COVID-19 Has Special Request
Sweet, Noah Schneider, like many others over the past year is battling COVID-19. He is in the home stretch of the sickness and has a very special request.
While Noah getting COVID-19 is similar to others, the other battles he faces daily are much different. Noah also has Cystic Fibrosis. This 5-year-old full-of-life little boy was born with the disease. He tested positive for COVID-19 at the end of December.
Angel here and I saw Noah s story featured on Good Morning America and instantly fell in love with him. Noah is a fighter. He loves to play just like any other little boy but he has to do it from his hospital room.
It s been a hot minute since we have had a measurable amount of snow in the Tri-State. Five years to be exact. Families all over are loving the opportunity to get out and play!
Angel here and I remember growing up and hearing big snow was coming. I remember when I was 15 I lived in Philpot and we got a ton of snow. There were seven-foot snowdrifts. All of the people in our neck of the woods decided to go to The Summit and go sledding. It seemed like a great idea at the time. We unloaded the sleds and lined up on the hill. We hoped on the sleds and down the hill, we went. It was a blast until we got all the way to the bottom and had to climb back up. Thankfully, we were young and had a ton of energy. I am not sure this old body could handle it now.
Can a Store Legally Check Your Bag or Make You Show a Receipt?
You just went through the checkout-line or self-checkout. You grab your bags, your receipt and head to the door. You re about to leave the store and you get stopped. Someone is asking to see your receipt. What do you do?

I believe that most people would stop without any problem and show their receipt but, is it required legally? It s happened to me before and I truly didn t think anything of it. I showed my receipt and moved on. Nothing to hide, nothing to see, but do stores have the legal authority to stop you when you re leaving to check your bag or receipt? I ve seen the question pop up on social media this week, so I was curious to find some answers.
