Facebook Share CLEVELAND, Ohio Justin Herdman, the former federal prosecutor who made his name fighting violent crime, is now working to free a man convicted in the slayings of three people. Within weeks of leaving the U.S. attorney’s office, Herdman has joined lawyers representing Kevin Keith, who was convicted in 1994 in Bucyrus, about 100 miles southwest of Cleveland.

Reynoldsburg police got that tip on a cold case 46 years later. Lori Nesson disappeared on September 28, 1974. Police say she had gone to a high school football game and then a house party. Nesson was last seen walking home just after midnight. “When this happened in 1974, this didn t just happen to me and my mom,” Toni Hastings, Nesson’s younger sister, said. “This totally changed everything for all of us. All my sister’s friends, my friends, me, my family, things we used to do.”

Canal Fulton Police Chief Douglas Swartz said first responders from Canal Fulton and Lawrence Township police and fire departments were sent to the 650 block of Colony Road for an explosion at approximately 8:48 p.m. on Feb. 25.
