More than three people are dead following a shooting Monday afternoon in West Jefferson, Madison County.
Police received a 911 call about 5:27 p.m. from a passerby about a gunshot victim outside a long, white apartment house at the west end bend of the 100 block of Jackson Street, north of Burnham Street in the village. We found multiple victims, West Jefferson Police Chief Christopher Floyd said Monday night.
He earlier told reporters at the scene Monday evening that three victims were found dead inside, but would not say how many were dead outside on the north end of the residence.
Floyd said the shooting occurred sometime between 1 p.m. and the 911 call just before 5:30 p.m.

Police Chief Christopher Floyd told reporters that after receiving a 5:30 p.m. call about a gunshot victim from a passerby, authorities found multiple victims, including three inside an apartment and at least one outside.
Floyd said that the slayings might have happened around 1 p.m. and he doesn’t believe it was a drive-by shooting, adding that the building is on a dead-end street.

Mandy Davis was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony rape, gross sexual imposition and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, local newspaper the Columbus Dispatch reported.
An investigation into Davis was launched after an employee at Teays Valley West Middle School in Commercial Point reported an odd relationship between Davis and a student, WBNS reported, citing Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew Hafey. According to police, Davis was arrested after the investigation was conducted.
