(Douglas County, NE) Douglas County has announced the schedule for the testing of their tornado sirens.
The Douglas County Emergency Management Agency will begin testing the Outdoor Warning Siren System for 2021 with a Visual Test of individual sirens on February 25th and 26th. Over those two days the public may hear periodic soundings of short duration. It should be noted that, if needed, the visual test may be cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather.
The first Routine Monthly Test for the 2021 season will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 3. Routine monthly tests consist of a single sounding at 11:00 AM on the first Wednesday of the month. Tests will be conducted on April 7, May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1 and October 6.
