Fugitive who fled to Mexico after fatal Christmas Eve crash in N.J. is arrested, authorities say

A 27-year-old fugitive who fled after being involved in a fatal crash in New Jersey on Christmas Eve was arrested Wednesday at a Texas town along the U.S. border with Mexico, officials said .
Roberto Alcazar-Sanchez, of Jackson, ran off after a vehicle he was driving collided with a car around 6 p.m. on Dec. 24, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday.
The driver of the other car an 83-year-old Howell man was exiting Interstate 195 at exit 21 and trying to make a left on Cedar Swamp Road when the crash took place. The man’s passenger Phyllis Shtab, 81, of Howell, died of her injuries two days later at Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune. The Howell man was treated and released from the hospital.
Fugitive in Ocean County Fatal Crash Surrenders in Texas
A man from Ocean County who was wanted in connection to a fatal crash back in December has surrendered to law enforcement in Laredo, TX.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer says on Wednesday, 27-year-old Roberto Alcazar-Sanchez of Jackson, surrendered to United States Customs and Border Patrol Protection Agents.

Alcazar-Sanchez is currently being held in Webb County, TX, Detention Center where he must quarantine for seven to ten days due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Police have arrested the suspect who murdered a Little Egg Harbor man in Lakewood on Sunday night.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Lakewood Police Chief Gregory Meyer have announced that Jahvontae Debose, 24, of Lakewood, is being charged with Murder following the shooting death of Dajour Randolph, 20, of Little Egg Harbor.

Lakewood Police responded to Tudor Court Sunday following a 9-1-1 call about a man who had collapsed in the middle of the road.
Officers found Randolph with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest and he was then transported to Monmouth Medical Center-Southern Campus in Lakewood, where he later passed away.
