ODOC continues to search for walkaway inmate from Lexington prison The Shawnee News-Star UPDATE: The Department of Corrections reports the inmate was taken into custody March 12 near Sayre. As of The Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) along with local law enforcement continue to search for an inmate who walked away from a minimum security unit at Lexington Correctional Center in Lexington, Okla. Staff discovered Matthew L. Perry’s absence during a routine headcount conducted noon Sunday, March 7. After a recount failed to locate Perry, staff promptly initiated walkaway procedures and the ODOC Fugitive Apprehension Unit immediately began a coordinated, multi-agency search for Perry.

Recreational drug use has been a hot button issue across the country, but the use of psilocybin, which is the chemical found in mushrooms finally reached the Iowa House floor. According to the psilocybin website, it is classified as a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance in Iowa. Apparently, these specific types of mushroom spores do not have any psilocybin spores, which makes them legal to be bought and sold in 47 of the 50 states. Iowa Representative Jeff Shipley has been leading the way on this bill for some time, but it has been canned for the time being.

Disturbance in Wildwood Leads to 2 Arrests, Gun and Drugs Seized

Cops in Wildwood say at around 12:15 early Sunday morning, they received a 911 call about a large disturbance at the Commissioner’s Court Housing Authority Complex on the 3700 block of New Jersey Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers learned that at least one person involved had a gun. Authorities detained 21-year-old Nick McNeal and 28-year-old Alexander Williams, both of Whitesboro. During an investigation, cops were able to locate video surveillance of the incident that allegedly showed Williams discard a gun as police arrived. That gun, a loaded .40 caliber Kahr semi-automatic handgun, was recovered. Carjacking Investigation Leads to Three Arrests in Wildwood An investigation into a stolen car in Wildwood led to cops arresting three people. Those three are now facing a long list of charges. The Wildwood Police Department says at about 3:30 Friday afternoon, they received a 911 call from 23-year-old Alexis Harris of Atlantic City who said that her vehicle had been stolen in the 3900 block of Atlantic Avenue. Responding officers found the unoccupied stolen vehicle about a block away and they stopped a person of interest, 34-year-old Kristina Cluff of Wildwood Crest, nearby. While police were speaking to her, they found her to be in possession of over 1,200 bags of suspected heroin that was packaged for sale; that heroin, according to police, was worth about $10,000.
