Kingston Police arrested a local man late last month after their drug enforcement unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Albert Street in Kingston on April 30.
A man in his 30s was taken into custody after Kingston Police’s emergency response unit entered the residence and arrested the male.
TEMISKAMING SHORES - On May 8, 2021 shortly after 3 a.m., members from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction on Highway 11 near West Road in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
Further investigation revealed that the passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant and was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed that the accused was in possession of a suspected controlled substance.
As a result, Jason Polson, a 37-year-old resident of Coleman Township, has been charged with:
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
In 2017, Joshua Milne, a 23-year old man, sexually assaulted a 17-year old teen in Burnaby. Warning to readers: What follows is a graphic account, copied verbatim from the judge’s summation. “[Milne] took advantage of her trust, rendered her unconscious, and then objectified and violated her, both through his prolonged five-hour attack and by recording his actions on his cellphone. The following morning, rather than provide assistance given her debilitated state, he lied to authorities, which led to her certification under the Mental Health Act and involuntary detention in hospital.” Milne pleaded guilty to sexual assault (meaning, in this case, rape), and transmitting child pornography. In 2020, he was sentenced to 12 months for sexual assault, and two months for child pornography, a total of 14 months for an utterly despicable act.

Two Kapuskasing residents were arrested this week after police executed a search warrant and seized quantities of what they believe to be cocaine.
On May 6, at approximately 9:18 a.m. members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the Community Street Crime Unit along with members of James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence in the Town of Kapuskasing.

A search of the residence led to the seizure of what is suspected to be cocaine with a street value of $1,920.

A joint investigation between the Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and the Hanna RCMP came to a conclusion today with the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of 1
st Avenue West. The investigation began in March.
The warrant was executed which resulted in the seizure of what is believed to be fentanyl and evidence to support trafficking.

A 46 year old female and a 56 year old male (both from Hanna) are facing a charge of possessing fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Both are being held for a hearing with a Justice of the Peace.
