Exynos 2200 chip with AMD graphics will be released in H2 2021

Exynos 2200 chip with AMD graphics will be released in H2 2021 According to the Korea Economic Daily, the premiere of a high-performance chip from Samsung, which will most likely be called the Exynos 2200, is scheduled for the second half of this year. It will be a 5-nanometer chipset that will receive an AMD Radeon graphics subsystem. The new processor has “exceptional processing power and energy efficiency.” The Exynos 2200 platform will be Samsung’s answer to the Apple M1 chip. Initially, the processor will find its use in the company’s laptops running Windows; and eventually it will get to other gadgets of the company. In particular, it can become the “heart” of the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Z Fold Tab tablets; and also do not exclude the possibility of its appearance in the flagships of the Galaxy S22 family.

Samsung introduces industry s first CXL module featuring DDR5 memory and PCIe 5 0 connectivity

Expand your system s memory like you would expand storage on May 11, 2021, 14:03 In brief: Samsung has recently announced a DDR5 memory expander that uses CXL, a new open standard for CPU-to-device and CPU-to-memory interconnection that benefits from the capabilities of PCIe 5.0 interfaces. This new standard is not widely used yet, but as DDR5 memory makes its way into the market, we expect to see its popularity grow. One day, we may see it being used in client systems. In 2019, the CLX (Compute Express Link) consortium created a new standard to tackle the performance and latency demands of data centers. Now consisting of over 130 members, the consortium consists of a wide range of companies, including Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Alibaba, Cisco, Intel, Nvidia, AMD, and many more.

Samsung develops CXL interface-based DRAM memory tech for data centres

Samsung Electronics said on Tuesday it has developed a new DRAM memory technology based on the Compute Express Link (CXL) interconnect standard that can upgrade the performances of data centres. Samsung unveiled the industry s first Double Data Rate 5 (DDR5) DRAM memory module that supports the advanced CXL interface. CXL is an open industry-standard interconnect based on the PCI Express (PCIe) 5.0 interface that enables high-speed, low latency communication between the host processor and devices, such as accelerators, memory buffers and smart input/output devices. Unlike conventional DDR-based memory, which has limited memory channels, Samsung said its CXL-based DRAM module can expand its memory capacity to the terabyte level while reducing system latency.
