State Lawmakers Approve Plan Sending Medical Marijuana Tax Revenue To Low-Income Schools When voters approved medical marijuana in 2018, proponents of the measure said portion of its tax revenue would go to education. Now, lawmakers think they ve zeroed in on the best way to spend the multimillion-dollar tax revenue. The Oklahoma House of Representatives unanimously approved a plan Wednesday that would direct medical marijuana tax revenue to the state’s low-income districts as well as brick and mortar public charter schools. The bill also reverses a State Department of Education decision to allow in-person and virtual charter schools draw on local tax dollars meant to finance school building funds.   

OSDH: 304 New COVID-19 Cases Reported, 9 More Virus-Related Deaths Added To State s Provisional Death Count

By: News 9 Nine more virus-related deaths and 304 new coronavirus cases were reported in the state since Thursday, according to daily numbers released by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. A total of 446,550 Oklahomans have tested positive for COVID-19 and the provisional death count of virus-related deaths is at 8,206, the state health department said on Friday. The seven-day rolling average for new cases reported was 241 cases , the state health department said. As of Wednesday, 2,500,302 total vaccine doses have been administered and 1,190,280 prime doses have been given by the state. More than 914,100 Oklahomans have completed both inoculations. About 205 Oklahomans are currently in acute care OSDH licensed facilities and six are currently in other types of facilities due to COVID-19.
