T.S. Eliot called April the cruelest month, but clearly he never home-schooled kids during a pandemic. The cruelest month is definitely January.
The excitement of the holidays are over. School, however that looks for you, is back in session. Itâs often too cold to play outside for more than 10 minutes. It still gets dark at around 4:30 p.m.

Event Description
Discovery Center Museum is joining over 11 other museums and science centers in Illinois and Indiana to continue its annual tradition of a New Year’s Eve countdown and celebration.
The children’s museums will host a free online Noon Year’s Eve Dance Party Countdown featuring The Awesome Squad, a children’s music group out of Decatur, IL who serve up kids’ favorite hits. Families will be invited to dance along to the songs before the official countdown to noon! Footage from all participating museums will be shared during this unique online event.
Noon Year’s Eve is a classic celebration for children’s museums across the country. Kids are often disappointed when adults stay up late to ring in the New Year, so this event is just for them. The free LIVE stream begins at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 31. Simply register for the free event at DiscoveryCenterMuseum.org and the museum will email guests the link. The event is sponsored locally by Swedi

San Diego Children s Discovery Museum presents Parenting on the Go, Episode 3: Gaming - How Play Helps Grown-Ups Learn about Kids. In fact, playing games with your child can provide critical insight into the way they learn and enhances skills necessary for their development. During this bite-sized conversation, you’ll learn what games tell us about how kids learn and how you can use games to help you child practice real-world skills.
