Why Christians believe in resurrection, not reincarnation

By Mary Farrow Every time Christians recite the Apostles’ Creed, they affirm their belief in what will happen to them after death: “ I believe in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.” The belief in the resurrection of one’s physical body at the end of time is central to Christian theology, and finds its basis in the resurrection of Christ, who rose in body and soul three days after his passion and death. But according to a 2018 Pew survey, 29% of Christians in the U.S. hold the New Age belief of reincarnation - the belief that when one’s body dies, one’s soul lives on in a new and different body, unrelated to the first.

Of course Biden is the president-elect

People supporting President Donald Trump rally in Washington, D.C., Dec. 12, including people who believe the Nov. 3 election results were in his favor. (Newscom/TheNEWS2 via ZUMA Wire/Julia Mineeva) When thousands rallied in the nation s capital Dec. 12 with a conviction that the Nov. 3 election had been stolen from President Donald Trump, among those headlining the event were a Texas Catholic bishop, a former papal nuncio to the U.S., several priests and a prominent Catholic pro-life leader. Four days later, the conservative advocacy organization Catholic Vote sent out an email under the headline President-Suspect, saying that while Joe Biden is the president-elect on paper … that means nothing until the votes cast by the electoral college are opened by a joint session of Congress on January 6.

Anton San Diego s Hot List 2020: Elegant And Glamorous Women Of Philippine Society

There were many covetous labels attached to Tita Conching, a term of endearment for Conchita Sunico. She was the original “It Girl”, the Hostess with the Mostest and the first Patroness of the Arts and Fashion. Born on 18 December 1913, the youngest of four daughters, she captured Manila’s attention when she won the title Carnival Queen. She gave the most exquisite of parties that it became a status symbol to be on her guest list, writes Marge Enriquez in a Tatler interview in March 2003. In the Sixties, she organised the Karilagan International fashion, cultural and dance troupes that travelled the world to promote Philippine culture. She also has been attributed to helping the careers of numerous designers and fashion models because of the luncheon fashion shows at the Manila Hilton. She had a friendly rivalry with good friend Chito Madrigal who became the social directress of the Hyatt and produced lunch fashion shows as well that eventually overshadowed her Hilton shows.

Bishop-elect Kulick humbled and honored by this assignment

Monsignor Larry Kulick wondered who would lead the Diocese of Greensburg after Bishop Edward Malesic was installed in the Diocese of Cleveland in September. How easily would the new bishop fit in with the 126,000 Catholics in the 78 parishes in Westmoreland, Indiana, Fayette and Armstrong counties? Would he have a sense of humor? Would he like pierogis, pizza and the Terrible Towel? “I have been fervently praying for the announcement,” he said about Pope Francis’s anticipated appointment. As vicar general under Bishop Malesic and diocesan administrator after the bishop left, he would be the one receiving the news. That call came the week before last when he learned that Pope Francis had appointed him as the sixth bishop of the diocese.
