New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she wants tech companies to make more progress on algorithms that can drive social media users to radicalisation.
Along with France, New Zealand is leading a push to rid the world of extremist and terrorist content online - known as the Christchurch Call.
The initiative follows the horrific terrorist attack that took place in New Zealand in 2019, which was livestreamed and stored online.

SunStar “Vax” is the word. Vaccine equity is key to overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic.
The world’s best scientists and researchers were able to produce in record time vaccines to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Drug manufacturers are doing their utmost best to meet the challenge of producing these to meet the demands of all countries, as governments roll out in earnest the vaccines. But the economic imbalance is threatening peoples in poor, if not less developed countries.
Global Citizen has done it again. The institution, behind the star-studded “One World: Together at Home,” raised last year $127.9 million to buy personal protective equipment and other supplies for countries that needed them. Canada ethics probe clears Trudeau AFP 2 hrs ago AFP © Adrian WYLD An ethics probe has cleared Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (R, pictured November 2015) but found former finance minister Bill Morneau violated the ethics act
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was cleared Thursday of ethics violations linked to a youth charity, while the investigation found his former finance minister breached the law.
The conclusions come almost one year after Trudeau s minority government came under political fire over a dubious contract, leading to then-finance minister Bill Morneau s resignation and the undoing of the prominent WE Charity, started in 1995 seeking to abolish child labor.
