‘Digital Athletes’ virtual camp for children to kick off on Sunday

A 12-day sports and technology virtual camp for children is set to start on Sunday as part of the 13th edition of Katara Tech Forum, the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) announced via its official social media accounts yesterday. ‘Digital Athletes’ online camp organised by Studio 5/6 under the Ministry of Transport and Communications in collaboration with Katara aims to “enhance kids’ talents on sports and technology while safe at home,” said Studio 5/6. Catered to children in two age groups, the camp offers comprises six different project-based workshops each running for five days. For children aged seven to 10, the workshops include Sports and 3D Scanning, Aim and Catch, and Code and Play while those aged 11 to 14 can participate in Ping Pong Coding, Sports Equipment Modeling, and Hurdling Games workshops. Doha: Some 200 years ago, Polish nobleman Count Waclaw Seweryn Rzewuski fell in love with Bedouin culture when he journeyed thousands of miles to the Middle East to look for purebred Arabian horses to purchase.
During this expedition which brought him to Aleppo and the Arabian Peninsula, the oriental scholar fluent in Arabic language took keen interest on Bedouin life and traditions, admitted to 13 tribes and was given the title ‘emir’.
Photography enthusiasts in Qatar have the chance to showcase their talent and win cash prizes in a competition being organised in line with Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF) which takes place next week.

In memory of the late prominent Qatari artist Dr. Wafa Al Hamad, two murals of her 1991 painting “A Dream on the Seabed” were unveiled yesterday at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara). Katara General Manager Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti unveiled the murals which adorn the exterior walls of Building 36. Murals of prominent works of art by pioneering Qatari artists who have had a great impact on the Qatari art scene deserve to stand for their creativity and introduce the emerging generations to them, said Dr. Al Sulaiti. He said the launch of the two murals located at the southern expansion of Katara continues the series of inaugurations of murals which Katara had started in the
