DHAKA, April 10, 2021 (BSS) – The Amar Ekushey Book Fair will end on April 12 instead of its stipulated deadline April 14, considering the worsening situation of Covid-19 pandemic.
After having discussion with the concerned officials, State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid gave the announcement today.
Faisal Hassan, Senior Information Officer of Cultural Ministry confirmed BSS, saying the decision of closure coincided with the government’s consideration for imposing strict lockdown across the country from April 14 to contain virus spread.
The 37th Amar Ekushey Book Fair started on 18 March last amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

MYMENSINGH, April 10 2021, (BSS)- A discussion on “Corona Situation and Our Duties” was held at Muktagacha municipality conference room this noon.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid was present as chief guest while mayor of the municipality Billal Hossen Sarker presided.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Muktagacha Abdullah Al Mansur ,Vice President of Muktagacha upazila parisad Alhaj Arab Ali and councilors were present.
State Minister discussed about the second wave of Covid -19 situation and its sharp surge of the infection.
He said the government has taken stern steps to save our live and livelihood during Covid -19 pandemic .

State Minister for Culture KM Khalid takes 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccine

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid received the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine today.
He received the shot around 12:00pm at the vaccination centre in Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Dr Ashraful Alam, an assistant director of the hospital.
He was under observation for half an hour, he said, adding the state minister took the first dose on January 28.
On January 27, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina launched the vaccination programme from Gono Bhaban when a total of 26 people took vaccine.
The state minister was among 541 people who got the vaccine during the two-day pilot programme of inoculation against Covid-19 at five public hospitals in the capital.
