Mira Bhayandar: Restrictions imposed in hotspots till March 31 as coronavirus cases rise

According to a notification issued by the civic body on Friday, the restrictions have been imposed with immediate effect in the COVID-19 hotspots of
Mira Bhayandar and will remain in force till March 31, 2021.
As per the order issued by MBMC Commissioner Dilip Dhole, hotels, restaurants, bars, banquet halls and food courts, outside the containment zones and hotspots will be allowed to operate from 7 am till 11 pm. They were earlier allowed to remain open till 1 am.

Dombivli has been booked for celebrating the birthday of his bull along with his friends by flouting several
coronavirus norms.
An FIR was filed against the accused Kiran Mhatre after he was found celebrating his bull s birthday with his friends, without wearing masks and practising social distancing.
The party took place at his residence in Reti Bunder in
Thane district s Dombivli.
The action was taken after the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) found a large number of people at the function.

KALYAN: Police on Thursday booked the parents of a newly-wed couple after Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) officials lodged a complaint against them for violating the rule limiting the number of people at a wedding to 50. As per the complaint, around 700 people were present at the wedding held on Wednesday in Kalyan (east).
An FIR has been registered at Kolsewadi police station against the bride’s father, Rajesh Mahatre, a resident of Chinchpada area in Kalyan and the groom’s father, Mahesh Raut, who hails from Kasarvadavali in Thane.

The civic body added that the participants did not follow
COVID-19 safety protocols, like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
Amid a surge in coronavirus cases in Maharashtra, a total of 23,54,261 persons have been vaccinated in the state.
A complaint has been registered under various sections such as IPC sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 and 270 (negligent and malignant act likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) among others.
In the last 10 days, Rs 5,64,900 fine has been collected from 1,131 violators.

In spite of the coronavirus restrictions, around 700 people gathered to attend a marriage function at Kalyan in Maharashtra s Thane district, following which police have registered a case against its organisers, civic authorities said.
The event was held on March 10, the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) said in a statement on Thursday. Following a tip-off that several people are attending a marriage function at Kalyan (East), civic officials visited the spot and found 700 people there, it said.
As per the state guidelines, only 50 persons are allowed to attend a wedding, an official said.
