(KFVS) - One person was injured in a head-on crash on the 1000 block of Bill Road in Graves County Monday, March 8. The crash happened at 6 p.m. According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, 64-year-old Jerrian Rule, of Mayfield, was driving northbound on Bill Rd., crested a hill and hit 20-year-old Makayla Willett’s car head-on. Mayfield/Graves County EMS transported one of the drivers to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Graves deputy, MPD officer honored for DUI stops

Two local law enforcement officers were recently recognized for their work to keep the streets and roads of Mayfield and Graves County safer. Mayfield Police Officer Cody Rogers and Graves County Sheriff’s Deputy Chandler Sirls were honored by the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety with the Governor’s Impaired Driving Enforcement Award for their work getting drivers who are under the influence off local roadways. The award is presented to one law enforcement officer in each agency or district in Kentucky each year. Both Sirls and Rogers had the most driving under the influence arrests for the Graves County Sheriff’s Office between Oct. 1, 2019 and Sept. 30, 2020, with 10 DUI arrests each during that time period, according to information from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
