Act fast against PDP’s sponsored attacks on INEC, APC charges security agencies

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has charged the nation’s security agencies to act fast and bring to book, elements of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accusing them of sponsoring attacks on offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
APC in a statement on Tuesday by the National Secretary of its Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC, Sen. John James Akpanudoedehe, said the PDP has a penchant for destroying democratic institutions.
The statement reads; “The senseless and reckless statement from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the attack on offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reminds us of the judgement of King Solomon in the case of the two women claiming to be the rightful mother of a child.

Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Bagudu, in a statement, last Friday, declared that all party members from all zones were free to contest any position in the next general election.
But credible sources in the APC confided in our correspondent on Monday in Abuja, that some APC governors and other party stalwarts were not comfortable with the development.
One of the sources said the governors, especially those from the South, were not comfortable with the statement alleging that there was no official meeting of the governors where the issue of zoning was extensively deliberated upon and decisions reached before the statement.

The Minister of Defence, Maj-Gen. Bashir Magashi (rtd.), on behalf of the Federal Government, has paid a condolence visit to the widow of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Mrs. Fati Attahiru, at the Flag House, Niger Barrack, Abuja.
The visit was after the burial of Ibrahim Attahiru, who died with 10 others in a Kaduna plane crash. Accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) and Chief of Air Staff (CAS), the minster said the visit was to mitigate the excruciating psychological impact of the army chief’s death to the family.
