Covid-19 vaccine update: ONList emails, new appointments happening this morning
Updated Feb 03, 2021;
Starting at 9 a.m., seniors who signed up on the county’s vaccine waiting list called the ONList should check their emails. Those notices will go to people on the list at random. The message will offer an appointment for shot on Thursday.
At 10 a.m., the county will open appointments for 603 shots, also given at the Oncenter on Thursday.
The county is getting 1,200 doses this week. In addition to the Thursday clinic, the county reserved some of the vaccine to administer Friday to developmentally disabled residents of congregate care facilities, County Executive Ryan McMahon said earlier this week. Those residents have already been identified and do not have to sign up.

The plan needs to be approved by both the local government and New York state before it can be put into action. Wildhack specified that the plan would start with students, but if successful, could be used to return members of the general public come lacrosse season.

ONList seniors: Check your email often to get Onondaga County’s Covid-19 vaccine
Updated Feb 01, 2021;
Syracuse, N.Y. Onondaga County sent out 90 emails Sunday morning to seniors who signed up on the county’s Covid-19 vaccine waiting list for a pop-up clinic held today.
Yet only 25 opened their emails, County Executive Ryan McMahon said today. That sent county staff into phone-bank mode on Sunday, calling those who didn’t open their messages.
“We got to them all,” McMahon said today.
But going forward, McMahon is asking the 10,000 people on the ONList waiting list to check their emails a few times a day.
