Apr 26, 2021 The Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be administered in West Michigan again after it was paused due to concerns over rare blood clots. As of Monday, 15 people from across the country had reported blood clots after received the vaccine. Three people died. Health officials still say the benefits outweigh the risks of the vaccine. Ottawa County Public Health Department spokesperson Kristina Wieghmink says the risk of developing a clot is very low as over seven-million doses of the vaccine have been administered. Central Oregon health officials voice alarm over recent surge in drug overdoses MGN Two fatal; overdoses involve heroin, opioids, methamphetamine; users urged to take added precautions PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) Central Oregon public health departments voiced concern Monday and outlined steps being taken to combat a recent rise in drug overdoses around the region, including two fatal overdoses, and 20 to 32 non-fatal overdoses in less than three weeks. Between April 9 thand Monday, there have been approximately 20 confirmed and 12 unconfirmed non-fatal overdoses in the Central Oregon region, along with two confirmed deaths from overdoses, according to the Central Oregon Public Health Overdose Team, a regional initiative between Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties.

Subscribe Los Angeles County health officials said they re ready to quickly resume use of Johnson & Johnson s COVID-19 vaccine Friday, after the vaccine was put back into rotation. The federal government had paused distribution 10 days ago to investigate the risk of rare, severe blood clots. Officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determined the benefits outweigh the risk. The L.A County Public Health Department is putting together educational materials to hand out with the vaccine, said Chief Science Officer Dr. Paul Simon. The materials will include really important information about what to look for, the signs and symptoms if you were to have this very rare reaction, he said. And we are going to underscore, this is a very rare reaction.
