One woman said she is scared and asked how she could protect herself from a level 3 predatory offender moving into Crow Wing County.
Another resident asked why the predatory offender is moving to the rural Brainerd address and whether he had a job.
These were a few of the questions asked during a community notification meeting Tuesday, Jan. 19, hosted virtually by the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office. This is the first community notification meeting the county has hosted in a virtual format since the pandemic began. About 27 people joined the meeting and a majority stayed online for most of the estimated 90 minute presentation and question-and-answer session.

According to the Minnesota Department of Corrections, Patterson engaged in sexual contact with an unknown woman that included penetration. Patterson gained control through physical force and approached the woman in a public setting, forcing her to another location.
One person was still in the water and hanging onto the side of the ice; the second person was out of the water, the sheriff’s officer reported in a news release.
Firefighters assist at crash
The Brainerd Fire Department was called for extrication, but nobody involved in crash was transported to a hospital.

The Brainerd Fire Department is at the intersection of East River Road and Laurel Street in Brainerd.
Emergency responders were called just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Spencer Road and Crow Wing County Highway 3, near Merrifield.
The Brainerd Fire Department was called for extrication.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office reported there were no injuries, but North Memorial Health Ambulance responded as a precaution. No one was transported from the scene by ambulance.
