GUWAHATI: The protest called by Dumping Ground Birodhi Mancha (DGBM) against the relocation of the city s dumping ground from Boragaon to Chandrapur continued on Monday.
The garbage collected by the GMC is being dumped on the premises of the closed Thermal Power Project. As the decision has outraged the residents of Chandrapur, police vehicles are escorting the GMC garbage-dumping vehicles to the dumping ground to avoid any untoward incident.
7,000 families to get medicinal plants at their doorstep

saplings of medicinal and oxygen plants right at their doorsteps free of cost.
Volunteers of KisanKonnect, a farmer-owned online marketplace for vegetables and fruits, have started distributing the saplings from July 1. In two days, it has distributed more than 3,000 saplings.
As the entire country, including
Maharashtra, is observing Van Mahotsav, KisanKonnect has marked this special occasion by urging people to actively participate in the plantation drive by planting medicinal and oxygen plant saplings in their homes and protect the environment at homes and outside. The saplings of

This year’s festival features a carnival, petting zoo, along with arts and crafts vendors.
There’s also plenty of food, live music and fireworks on Sunday.
The Manistee County Chamber of Commerce says it’s exciting to have the festival back and to see people out enjoying a community tradition.
“The Forest Festival has a lot of tradition here in Manistee, people, their families come back to town and it’s a tradition here, and there’s 10,000 people that come in to the area that aren’t always necessarily here so it’s really a special time, not only for families,” said Kristina Bajtka, Director of Communications and Investor Relations, Manistee Area Chamber of Commerce
