Sergio Perez was confirmed as Max Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull Racing for the 2021 season after he was let go by Racing Point following a stellar campaign for them in 2020.
It is the first time since 2007 that Red Bull has looked outside their pool of young drivers for a candidate.
Red Bull will certainly provide Perez a chance to add more glimmer to his curriculum vitae. However, renowned motorsports journalist Mark Hughes believes it will be a big surprise if the Mexican challenges Verstappen for supremacy within the team.
Ocon: My 2020 progress was ‘very strong’

Esteban Ocon says that, despite being comfortably beaten by his team-mate, he is pleased with the progress he made in 2020.
It proved to be a difficult return to the grid for Ocon as, driving alongside Daniel Ricciardo, he was the weaker of the two
Renault drivers throughout the season.
On the bright side, the gap between the two was much smaller at the end of the season than it was at the start, and Ocon feels that the progress he made throughout the year was “very strong”.
