Print Vista Community Clinic has been giving out fresh and boxed food to support the health of patients and community members in need through food distributions for more than a decade. Since the onset of the pandemic, food distribution has increased and is offered up to four times a week, based on need, thanks to a number of local groups and nonprofits ranging from Feeding San Diego, Poder Popular and Coastal along with grants to the clinic. Diapers are also currently available, in various sizes. Parents and guardians of babies and young children can request a box of diapers when they call to schedule their food pick-up. To make an appointment, call (760) 631-5000 ext. 7014.
Copperman s mystery full of humor, too
Beth Nieman
The mystery genre remains a consistently popular fiction category for adult readers. I like mysteries myself, especially the “cozy” variety, and recently discovered an enjoyable series started in 2010 by author E. J. Copperman. Copperman injects humor and an appealing supernatural element into his plots. The first title in his Haunted Guesthouse series is “Night of the Living Deed.”
Narrating the series is Alison Kirby, a recent divorcée with a 9-year old daughter. Alison has returned to her hometown of Harbor Haven, New Jersey, purchasing a run-down Victorian home to transform into a guesthouse for people visiting the Jersey coast. She gets busy re-doing the floors, cleaning, and painting to restore the beauty and charm of the home to get it ready for the next season of summer visitors.
