Teen arrested following Capel Sound attempted armed robbery
Detectives arrested the 15-year-old boy yesterday and seized an imitation firearm.
The Rye boy was charged with attempted armed robbery and possess imitation firearm and was bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
The charges follow an incident at a food store on Illaroo Street where a male allegedly produced an imitation firearm and demanded cash about 12pm on 2 April.
Police would like to thank the community and the media with their assistance in the matter.

Public appeal after man produces firearm during attempted armed robbery
The incident occurred at a food store on Illaroo Street about 12pm on 2 April.
It’s believed an unknown man approached the front counter and produced a dark-coloured firearm that was concealed in his pants.
The man pointed the firearm at the staff attendant and made demands for cash.
The male victim then triggered an audible alarm and the offender put the firearm back in his pants before fleeing empty handed.
The man was last sighted walking south along Boneo Road, Rosebud ten minutes after the incident.
The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

Police investigate Tuerong serious assault
Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following an assault in Tuerong yesterday.
Investigators have been told a 19-year-old Bentleigh East man was swimming with friends at Devil’s Bend Reserve, just off Graydens Road, about 6.15pm
They were walking back to the carpark when they came across a group of about ten unknown males by the water’s edge.
One of the males from the other group threw a rock at the 19-year-old, narrowly missing him.
A verbal altercation took place before one of the males from the group punched the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.
