More than 43,000 of Michigan’s most vulnerable vaccinated as part of vaccine pilot program
In total, 43,797 vaccines were administered statewide as a part of the pilot. Second doses will be arriving at pilot sites over the next few weeks.

More than 43,000 Michiganders living in communities with high Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine thanks to a pilot program coordinated by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the Protect Michigan Commission.
In early March, MDHHS and the Protect Michigan Commission awarded 35,800 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to 22 entities across Michigan to help enhance the state s vaccine equity strategy.

ALBION, MI (WTVB/WNWN) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department has announced they are pausing the use of Johnson & Johnsonâs single-dose COVID-19 vaccine based on the Food and Drug Administration’s and CDC’s recommendation.
In a devastating blow to Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the FDA and CDC announced on Tuesday that they are “recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution.” The move comes amid concerns of possible links between the vaccine and blood clots in some who get the single-dose shot.

The C.C.P.H.D. says they will be using the Pfizer vaccine during Tuesdayâs clinic at the Albion College Dow Center and they are going forward until further information is available.
