CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Several law enforcement agencies in east Alabama served multiple search warrants on several different locations Friday morning.
The warrants focused on seizing illegal gambling machines.
The Anniston Police Department, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, the Piedmont Police Department, and the Jacksonville Police Department served 10 search warrants on 9 different properties throughout Calhoun County.
Illegal gambling machines were taken from each of the properties. In addition to the machines, firearms and narcotics were also removed.

PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A suspect in an attempted sexual assault in Pennfield Township is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday afternoon in Calhoun County.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says Deputies responded to reports of the attempted against a 33-year-old female at around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday night in the 100 block of Hopkins Street.
They say the alleged victim was assaulted as she was unlocking the door to her apartment and forced inside.
The suspect is identified as a 22-year-old male who lives nearby.
He was reported to have fled in a vehicle but deputies found him nearby and arrested him.

PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. â A man was arrested Tuesday night in Pennfield Township after an attempted sexual assault, according to the Calhoun County Sheriffâs Office.
It happened about 8 p.m. in the 100 block of Hopkins Street, a news release said.
Deputies say the victim was assaulted by the suspect as she was unlocking the door to her apartment, when the man forced her inside her apartment and tried to sexually assault her.
The suspect was identified by the victim as a 27-year-old man who lives nearby.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. â A Calhoun County spa owner is facing prostitution charges after a long-term investigation by the sheriffâs office.
Stephen Hagerman is the owner of Avenue Spa on E. Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek, as well as Highway Spa on Partello Road in Marengo Township, according to the Calhoun County Sheriffâs Office.
The investigation began in 2018 after tips of prostitution at these locations and included surveillance, interviews and simultaneous raids at the properties in 2019, during which phones and electronics were seized.
