Stakeholders in the broadcasting sector have agreed to work in close ties to clamp down unethical broadcast content and regulate media excesses in the country.
They gave the assurance at a consultative meeting held last Friday under the auspices of the Ministry of Information to dialogue on how to regulate contents produced on broadcast media in the country.
The forum which sought to galvanize solutions and take inputs from relevant stakeholders in the drafting of a comprehensive broadcasting bill in a manner consistent with the 1992 constitution was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization, Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, the Ministry of Justice and Attorney-General’s Department, the National Media Commission (NMC), the National Communication Authority (NCA), the National Security Secretariat, the Bank of Ghana, the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA), the Ghana Journalists Associati
NDC’s Yaw Boateng Gyan is not happy with the leadership of the minority caucus in parliament.
He claims they are the cause of the internal wranglings within the party after neglecting the party’s position on how things should be run.
The approval of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta is alleged to have caused some confusion within the minority caucus as some claim the unanimous approval of Mr Ofori-Atta made the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa resign from the Appointments Committee.

A former National Organizer of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan has called on his party leadership to with immediate effect cease the internal wrangling before it becomes a crisis.
He said the party should be focusing on how to win the next presidential election in 2024 and save the country from the bad leadership of the Nana Addo-led government.
This follows Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s resignation from the Appointments Committee of Parliament and Isaac Adongo’s meeting with the press to express his disapproval of the minority’s acceptance of Ken Ofori-Atta as Finance Minister.
