NPP’s Nana Obiri Boahene has given the indication that the issue before the Supreme Court will be of no relevance if the petitioner, John Dramani Mahama dies today .
He explained that the petitioner’s idea not to testify and prove his case in court is “worrying” – after questioning his reason for seeking the court for clarification after losing the 2020 presidential election.
Nana Obiri Boahene who is also a practising lawyer was emphatic that the first and second respondent’s refusal to testify in court will not be of advantage to the petitioner.
“Never, that will not change anything if the petitioner has a weak case and can’t justify it. The position of the law says a weak petitioner’s case is not strengthened by a weak respondent’s case,” he noted in an interview with
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency, Frank Annoh-Dompreh wants the Speaker of Parliament to expose fellow MPs who have tested positive for coronavirus but refusing to isolate themselves.
According to him, their actions will not only harm others but tarnish the image of the August House.
“What they are doing is dangerous and must not be accepted. The speaker should name and shame them if that is what they want.”

Private Legal Practitioner, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw says he wasn’t surprised when the lead Counsel for the Petitioner in the Election Petition case, Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata told the court that a witness on their side is suffering from some health complications – hence, cannot appear before the court.
According to Mr Tsikata, if given the chance to file a witness statement, it will help bring a shred of apt evidence and facts to help make their case a more rock-solid one.
His argument comes after an application filed by the petitioner for the 1st respondent; EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa to produce some documents including Constituency and regional collation sheets for inspection, was dismissed by the court.
Private Legal Practitioner, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw says the lead counsel for the petitioner, Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata will end up ‘failing’ the petitioner, John Dramani Mahama in his fight to challenge the 2020 presidential election in court.
According to him, even though the Apex Court judges are “treating Mr Tsatsu with some respect” – the learned lawyer has however chosen to “misbehave” in an open court.
