SEATTLE – A Shoreline woman was charged with a hate crime Thursday for allegedly threatening her Vietnamese American neighbor, the King County Prosecutor’s Office says.
Prosecutors say the woman, Jan Myers, has allegedly harassed her neighbor for years using anti-Asian slurs. On April 5, prosecutors say this behavior escalated after she threatened her neighbor calling her “slant eye” and yelling at her “hey Miss Vietnam, look at all that trash. You’re not going to live very long.”
The neighbor says she took video of the incident.
