Those numbers reflect a notable uptick, compared to the week of Christmas. Health experts across the U.S. had predicted a surge in cases due to holiday gatherings. DEATHS City health officials on Wednesday reported a daily total of 10 coronavirus deaths after a total of 23 deaths were reported over the course of six days prior to that.
