Uncovering the Asian American Old West

A Spray by any Other Name: Agent Orange or Clear-cut Agent?

Dissident Voice: here and here. I even did a review of that documentary,  The People VS Agent Orange, which highlights Tran To Nga‘s fight in France “Eternal Impunity of Capitalism’s Crimes“. Here’s one passage from that story I wrote: Dr. James Clary was with the Air Force in Vietnam, which ran the program. He was ordered to dump the computer and erase all memory. Instead, he printed out a stack of documents two feet high – missions, sorties, coordinates, dates, gallons dropped throughout all of Southeast Asia and Laos. “We had the information coming from Dow that there were real problems for people associated with this chemical. It was all locked up for 35 years.”

Why Browns safety Richard LeCounte III could become a draft day steal for GM Andrew Berry -- Film review

Why Browns safety Richard LeCounte III could become a draft day steal for GM Andrew Berry Film review Updated May 12, 2021; CLEVELAND, Ohio To the casual Browns fan, fifth-round rookie safety Richard LeCounte III probably doesn’t carry much clout. Never mind he was one of the nation’s highest-rated recruits out of high school in 2017 and earned All-SEC first-team honors last season. Once those college days are over, NFL writers, coaches and fans all tend to judge players based on the round in which were selected. Underwhelming prospects picked after Round 3 remain that until proven otherwise. When they do, their draft position quickly resurfaces. Often to tell a success story. Think Dak Prescott. Of course, the opposite happens when players “bust.”

Grants help students get ag research experience

Jun 15, 2021 to Jun 17, 2021 A new grant at Washington State University will allow undergraduate students from WSU, Eastern Washington University, Lewis-Clark State College, and Gonzaga University get real-world agricultural research experience. The USDA National Institute for Food and Agriculture (NIFA) Research and Extension Experiences for Undergraduates (REEU) grant will put students to work on field research and lab work centered on crops, including visits to farms to talk with agricultural stakeholders. The program will culminate in a final project that students will present to their peers and advisors. Students from all four institutions will be eligible to apply for the project, which will be hosted at WSU.

The Backfiring Strategy to Make COVID Vaccines Cool

The Backfiring Strategy to Make COVID Vaccines Cool | Opinion Jason Rantz , Host, the Jason Rantz Show On 5/11/21 at 1:00 PM EDT Vaccine passports are here and they pose a dangerous slippery slope. At the same time, there s a foolish attempt to make vaccinations cool a PR strategy promoted by desperate vaccinated progressives in double masks. Both of these trends reveal there s still no good national strategy to address the vaccine-hesitant. In Washington state, where I live, we are now using vaccine passports. Businesses are slowly getting the green light to use them for vaccinated-only sections at events, and colleges are mandating COVID vaccines for otherwise healthy college students.
