On April 22, a day when Gujarat reported 13,105 new Covid-19 cases, a video of a young man lying on the road outside Ahmedabad’s Shardaben Hospital was widely shared on social media. The man had been denied admission in the designated Covid hospital because he did not arrive in the government-run 108 ambulance service, sparking online outrage and media attention.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that the central government has sanctioned 11 new PSA oxygen plants to be set up in Gujarat and they will be operational shortly.Shah was speaking in Gandhinagar while inaugurating a 280-litre PSA .

DRDO also has readied a 900-bed Covid facility Tata Trusts will set up a a 1,200-bed hospital for Covid patients in Gandhinagar announced the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday.
Addressing a press conference after meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Shah informed that the entire cost of the 1,200-bed covid hospital including 600 ICU beds will be borne by Tata Trusts.

Shah, who arrived in Ahmedabad on Friday evening also visited the newly set up 900-bed covid facility set up with the help of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which will start admitting patients from Saturday.

Kribhco donates Rs 1 crore to Gujarat CM to fight Covid
Not lagging behind when it comes to helping countrymen, the second largest co-operative fertilizer Kribhco has followed in IFFCO’s foot-steps and announced setting up of an Oxygen plant at its Hazira unit. The daily production capacity of the medical grade oxygen plant of Surat will be 100 D-type Oxygen Cylinder.
Kribhco officials say that Plant is in the advanced stage and oxygen could be supplied in the next 10-15 days. Like IFFCO, the oxygen of Kribhco would also be free of cost. It would be supplied to Government Hospitals and other needy hospitals. This process will help to mitigate hardship of the people in this tough pandemic time, sighed several co-operators.

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], April 21 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Wednesday took his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Gandhinagar.
Over the last few weeks, Chief Ministers of several other states including Manipur s Biren Singh, Chhattisgarh s Bhupesh Bhagel and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia have taken the first dose of the vaccine.
India is currently in the third phase of the nationwide vaccination drive. As per the union health ministry, India on Wednesday crossed a landmark with more than 13 crore people administered with doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
