A Humble Bundle store page leak has given us some early details about Resident Evil Village. Interestingly, the leak also confirms that Capcom is planning to include a multiplayer mode, just as it did with the Resident Evil 3 remake last year.
The leak has been spreading across Twitter this afternoon, including screenshots of the leaked store page listing before it was removed. In the screenshots, we see that Resident Evil Village includes access to a mode called Re:Verse, which appears to be a new multiplayer mode.
There was a link to an official Resident Evil Re:Verse website included too, but the website is not online at the time of publishing. Elsewhere, the listing also gives us the official blurb for Resident Evil Village, which reads:
The multiplayer mode of Resident Evil Village and its various editions have been leaked just before the Resident Evil Showcase event, which is slated to be held later today will not only reveal more information about the upcoming title but the Resident Evil franchise as a whole as well.
A Humble Bundle listing suggests that the multiplayer mode of Resident Evil will be known as Resident Evil Re: Verse. There was a dilemma earlier as to whether the multiplayer mode will be included with Resident Evil Village or not. However, it seems like Resident Evil Re: Verse will be included with Resident Evil Village. The page also contains a link to the Resident Evil Re: Verse website, which wasn’t accessible at the time of this writing.

We re just hours away from Capcom s Resident Evil Showcase, but this being the internet, something was bound to leak sooner or later. The developer has been taking applications for a closed beta in the lead up to the event, and it looks like those will be for Resident Evil Re:Verse. Yes, that is its name we re not kidding. A description of Resident Evil Village has leaked its existence over on the Humble store, and it looks like it ll be some sort of multiplayer mode.
If you think of what Resident Evil Resistance was for Resident Evil 3, you re along the right lines in terms of how the two experiences will be bundled. Re:Verse looks set to be a separate executable on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, but the two titles are inherently tied as you ll purchase them together. Re:Verse s official website currently displays a 404 error, although that will surely change following tonight s Resident Evil Showcase. The f
Surprises Promised for Resident Evil Showcase Stream
Capcom’s been building up anticipation for its upcoming
Resident Evil Showcase livestream, and writing on the PlayStation Blog it’s outlined a little more about what we can expect when the event gets underway. Social Media Manager Kellen Haney explains that we’ll get an “extended trailer that unveils a bit more of the world [of Resident Evil Village] and mysterious new characters, as well as a first look at gameplay”.
But that’s not all, as the publisher has a “few more surprises” in store. We know that there’s going to be some kind of closed beta test, so it’ll be interesting to see what that pertains to. The franchise is also celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and some fans have considered that there could be re-releases of the original PS1 titles made available. That’s purely speculation, of course, but we’d certainly be open to it.
