La Plaza de Virginia Will Offer 46 Affordable and Supportive Homes for Seniors with Community Senior Service Center and Café

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the start of construction on a $17 million affordable housing development that will offer 46 affordable homes for seniors in Buffalo. Known as La Plaza de Virginia, the development will also include a community senior service center and café. The developer is Hispanos Unidos de Buffalo, a nonprofit organization that provides integrated social services to underserved communities in the Buffalo area. La Plaza de Virginia is part of Governor Cuomo s unprecedented $20 billion, five-year affordable Housing Plan.

It was the only bid on the property.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – With more than 800 on a waiting list for affordable housing in Murfreesboro and 900 on a second waiting list for Section 8 housing, adding more affordable homes to existing acreage already owned by the Murfreesboro Housing Authority (MHA) is a priority for CEO Thomas Rowe.
“Right now, we have so many people on both waiting lists that we have stopped taking applications at all,” Rowe said.

Trout Brook Realty Advisors, the nonprofit development arm of the West Hartford Housing Authority, is set to break ground on the transit-oriented development project located on the 2-acre former Acme Auto Parts site nearby two stops on the CTfastrak rapid bus line.
Financing for the project comes from the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) via the Connecticut Finance Housing Authority (CHFA) and additional subordinate financing from the Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH).
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The Minneapolis office of Colliers Mortgage, part of Colliers International | U.S., recently closed a $14.9 million HUD 221(d)(4) loan for the acquisition and substantial rehabilitation financing of Oakley Square, a 100-unit affordable multifamily property located in Durham, North Carolina.
The loan will allow the borrower to acquire and rehabilitate the property, preserving 100 units of affordable housing. In addition to the HUD-Insured First Mortgage, the project will receive equity from the sale of Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC). The project also involved Tax-Exempt Bonds, which were underwritten by Colliers Securities LLC.
The 40-year term and amortization HUD 221(d)(4) loan was arranged for borrower Oakley Square Housing Partners, LP.
