Job seekers can hope for better days ahead as India Inc’s ‘intent to hire’ in July-September marks its highest level in the past 15 months, according to a survey of 700 small, medium and large companies across 21 sectors.
The latest TeamLease Employment Outlook Report, shared exclusively with ET, showed that 38% of the companies surveyed intend to hire in this quarter, up from 34% in April-June, despite fears of a possible third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite skyrocketing Covid-19 cases, hiring activity is likely to increase by 7% in the April-June quarter as compared to the previous quarter ended March 31 if no further lockdowns and curbs are introduced. New hiring is likely to be driven by healthcare, pharmaceuticals, educational services, e-commerce and technology start-ups and IT.
According to the TeamLease Employment Outlook Report, eight out of 21 sectors reviewed are likely to see a 9-11% rise in hiring activity in the current quarter.

Mumbai: As the economy opens up, the good news is that sectors across the board are seeing a pick-up in hiring. The Teamlease Employment Outlook Report for Q3: (October –December 2020-21) reveals that the overall intent to hire metric seems to have turned the corner and Metro and Tier-1 cities are likely to benefit significantly from the unlock initiatives.
The report goes on to say that the intent to hire metric to witness a noticeable 3 per cent increase over the October-Dec quarter and small businesses will see near-doubling of hiring intent over the previous HY.
