Valley of the Latte Summer Camp 2021
Valley of the Latte Adventure Park is hosting its summer camp, Ke Tungo I Kutturan CHamoru (Learn about the CHamoru Culture), from June 7 to Aug. 13. Each camp takes place at the Talofofo park, which will be hosting 20 campers per two-week session. Kids will be split into two age groups: 8 to 10 and 11 to 13. During the camps, they will explore the outdoors through daily hikes, farming activities and kayaking lessons. They will also be participating in cultural lessons.
. Three COVID-19 variants “of concern” have been identified among a handful of coronavirus samples collected on Guam this spring, according to the U.S. territory’s Joint Information Center. Seven samples taken in March and April underwent genome sequencing by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which returned the results to Guam’s Department of Public Health and Social Services on Wednesday. Of those, four were identified as the United Kingdom variant, one was the California variant and one was the South African variant. “These variants seem to spread more easily and quickly than other variants, which may lead to more cases of COVID-19,” the coronavirus respiratory disease, the CDC said on its website. “An increase in the number of cases will put more strain on health care resources, lead to more hospitalizations, and potentially more deaths.”
HAGÃ TÃA (The Guam Daily Post) â The Food and Drug Administration on Monday granted Pfizer-BioNTech s request to allow their Covid-19 vaccine to be given to people ages 12 to 15 on an emergency use basis, boosting immunization among middle school students ahead of the next school year.
This is the first Covid-19 vaccine in the U.S. authorized by FDA for use in younger teens and adolescents. The FDA s expansion of the emergency use authorization for the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine to include adolescents 12 through 15 years of age is a significant step in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock said in a statement.
