One of the loudest matters on social media this month has been the ongoing situation with Pakistani students and their board/CAIE exams. Students, with notable support from the likes of politician and activist Jibran Nasir and TV show host Waqar Zaka, have been fighting the cause, with Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood on the other side of the ring.
The most unsatisfying and inappropriate part of this very valid fight has been pupils crossing the line and being straight up disrespectful towards Mahmood . This is behaviour that cannot and shout not be condoned. No matter the cause, one must not misbehave with someone else, irrespective of their age.

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has decided to provide provisional university admissions to final year A level students whose exams have been postponed to the October-November session.
The students will be given admissions for Fall 2021 so that they don’t waste an entire educational year.
âHEC after consultations with the Covid-19 oversight committee representing vice-chancellors from each province and region and heads of a few private sector universities has agreed to provide provisional admission to A2 students in the Fall 2021 semester so that they would not waste a session,â stated a press release issued by commission.

Things have changed. It’s not our time when we could not spread our legs in front of our elders let alone speak in front of them. Besides the minister drove the students n their families to the wall. If the minister is so indecisive that he can’t fathom the consequences of procrastinating his decision then what a minister he is. So many thousands of students life has been put at stake n yeah somebody is there to lecture us to put your finger on your lips. Kids have all the rights to voice their dissent. It’s good they are learning to defend themselves from the early age. Please you too come of age now.

Sheheryar Munawar recently tried his hand at social activism and took to social media to comment on the on-going episode involving the nation s students, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood, and the approaching exams. When he urged the government to cancel exams in the interest of the students safety, given the risk that Covid poses, the internet turned on him and asked about a qawwali he attended not too long ago, forcing him to apologise.

Ho Mann Jahan star posted a tweet, urging the government to refrain from putting the health and safety of our students at risk , calling for an alternate to in person exams. The tweet came in as celebrity after celebrity weighed in on the matter.
