CAN Hits Back At Islamic Council Over Appointments, Accuses It Of Pushing To Islamise Nigeria
CAN fired back, noting that the Judiciary was the appendage of NSCIA under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, especially throughout his first term. It also alleged that members of the Islamic council were in charge of affairs.

The Christian Association of Nigeria has described the attack by the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs on the hijab crisis and appointment of Appeal Court Justices as evasive.
NSCIA recently attacked CAN for opposing the nomination of 13 Northerners/ Muslims out of the 20 jurists listed as Court of Appeal Justices.
The Sango-Ota Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), in Ogun says it will deploy personnel to man the diversion spot on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, to ensure free traffic flow.
Mr Akeem Ganiyu, Sango-Ota Unit Commander of FRSC, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday in Ota, Ogun.
According to him, motorists plying the toll gate area of the road should be safety conscious and patient, due to the ongoing construction works, to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
NAN reports that the project is being handled by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, while the diversion started on March 31.

A motorcyclist lost his life on Saturday during an accident involving a truck at Akwaeze in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra.
Mr Andrew Kumapayi, Anambra Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Awka.
Kumapayi said the accident, which occurred at about noon, was caused by speeding and wrongful overtaking.
“The crash involved an unidentified driver of a Mercedes Benz 911 Truck with registration number KPP273XD, and an unidentified rider of a Kymco motorcycle with registration number AKL172QN.
“Eyewitness report indicates that the crash occurred while the speeding motocyclist tried to overtake the truck and was crushed by the truck driver.
