(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Mr Ahmed Umar, Ogun Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has urged passengers to always caution reckless drivers to avoid accidents and fatalities.
Umar gave the advice in an interview on Friday in Ota, Ogun, while commiserating with accident victims families.
He said the accident which occurred on Thursday along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway claimed 11 lives and injured three.
African Examiner reports that the accident involved a commercial bus with no number, a Toyota Rav 4 with registration number LND 13 GS and a Toyota Camry marked GGE 369 GJ.
Umar said that the incident could have been averted if the commercial bus driver obeyed simple traffic regulations of not overtaking wrongly, which resulted in the death of innocent people.
According to Osinbajo who made the call while inaugurating the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Marshal Inspectorate Training School, built by the Delta State Government in Owa-Alero, Ika North East Local Government Area, Nigeria remains better as one united country. He said that Nigeria is a great nation despite its diversity and current challenges, adding that Nigerians should harness the inherent benefits in the country to promote sustainable socio-economic growth and development. To truly achieve this, Nigeria as a nation, must continue to promote justice, equity and fairness among the diverse groups in the country. We must caution those who are agitating for the break-up of the country against such agitation. It is important for our people to understand that the unity of this country must not be compromised, Osinbajo said.

Reps ask FCDA to stop demolition of Adkan Estate Police Station, FRSC office in FCT

House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has asked the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) to stop the demolition of the Adkan estate police station and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) office, the situation within the premises in Abuja.
The order was sequel to a petition filed by the residents of the estate before the House.
Dated April 14th 2021, the petition accused the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) of encroaching into the green zone of the estate and selling off some portions of it.
