A Brookfield man who led authorities on a high-speed pursuit through multiple counties last year has been sentenced to jail time after a jury found him guilty of a couple of felonies back in March.
Matthew Guilford, of Brookfield, was on the run from authorities on February 11, 2020, after they attempted to pull him over near Laclede. The pursuit traveled through Livingston, Carroll and Lafayette Counties, before Guilford was stopped and taken into custody in Saline County.
Guilford was wanted for a felony warrant out of Linn County, as well as a Federal Parole Violation warrant.
On March 5, a jury found Guilford guilty of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; and a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury/Death to Any Person.
