Driver who left two people with life-changing injuries in crash is given suspended sentence A man who left two people with life-changing injuries because he was driving while unfit through drink and drugs has been given a suspended sentence. Regan Purton, 23, was involved in a serious crash in Lower Road in Stoke Mandeville in the early hours of September 20 last year. The passenger of the car he was driving and the other of another vehicle both suffered life-changing injuries in the smash, which happened near the Bell pub. On Monday, May 10, Purton, of Nene Close in Aylesbury, was given a four-month jail sentence, suspended for two years.
Cyclist in hospital after crash today A CYCLIST is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Oxford. She was cycling along St Clements Street near to the junction of Boulter Street when she collided with a black or blue hatchback at 8.20am today. The driver stopped initially but then left without leaving their details. The woman, who is in her 30s, has injuries which are not life-threatening. Investigating officer, PC Chris Weatherley, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward. “Further, I’d also ask any motorists who were in the area around the time of the incident to check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured something that could help our investigation.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he remains at this time. Investigating officer PC Brendan Austin of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit based at Three Mile Cross, said: “This was a serious collision which has resulted in a child suffering extensive injuries. “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision, or who was driving in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage of the incident to please make contact with police. “You can do so by calling the 24-hour non-emergency number 101, or making a report online, quoting reference number 43210202270.”
