Should the former Shenendehowa High School star stay at UAlbany, and play soccer and lacrosse?  Maybe just one of the sports during her extra year of NCAA eligibility, which was granted because of the novel coronavirus pandemic’s impact on college athletics?  Or should she head elsewhere? “My head was spinning,” Harbinger said. No longer.  With a decision made and the uncertainty behind her, Harbinger said Sunday she’s thrilled to know she’ll continue her college career at UMass, where the Clifton Park native will join a women’s lacrosse squad coming off a 15-3 season that included an Atlantic 10 Conference championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament.

When the lacrosse season went on pause at the start of the pandemic, Syracuse women’s lacrosse head coach Gary Gait spent some of his extra time on Zoom with former Syracuse players.  He held a “coaching clinic” for former SU women’s lacrosse players who made the jump to coaching at schools around the country after playing at SU. In a series of virtual discussions with a group of former players, he spoke to alumni dating back to the beginning of Gait’s tenure in 2007. Several coaches also said that they use several of Gait’s strategies with their own teams.

UAlbany women’s lacrosse falls again to Stony Brook in America East final | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Shares0 UAlbany couldn’t break its long losing streak Saturday against Stony Brook, as the Seawolves won yet another America East Conference women’s lacrosse championship. With a 16-9 win at its home Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Long Island, Stony Brook secured its eighth consecutive league championship. All eight of those title victories have come against a Great Danes program that has appeared in the last 10 conference championship games.  “We gave it our all,” UAlbany graduate student Madison Conway said during a post-game teleconference of the Great Danes’ effort.
