Hickory Man Arrested for Felony Failure to Appear

30-year-old Gary Benjamin Stamper of 13th Avenue Drive S.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police last Wednesday (May 26) on two felony counts of failure to appear. He reportedly failed to appear in court on charges of breaking & entering a building with intent to commit felony larceny and larceny after breaking & entering.
Stamper was taken into custody without incident at a hotel on Highway 70 S.W. in Hickory. He was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $16,000 secured bond. He has since been released. Stamper will appear in Superior Court on August 2 in Newton. He also has a District Court date on June 29 on a charge of felony larceny of motor vehicle parts.

32-year-old Clyde Junius Rogers of Cross Creek Drive in Hudson was arrested Friday (May 28) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, resisting a public officer, and assault on a female. Rogers was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $177,500 bond. District Court dates were scheduled today (June 1) and June 28.

52-year-old Charles Loman Lee Houser of 1st Street SE in Hickory was arrested Thursday (May 27) by Conover Police Officers. He’s charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting a public officer, and second-degree trespassing. Houser was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $5,500 bond. A Superior Court appearance was scheduled today (May 28) and a District Court date is set for June 28.
