Conover Residents Charged In Connection To Alexander County Larceny Case

54-year-old Larry Allan Miller and 46-year-old Nathan Scott Carroll, both of Conover, were arrested on charges filed by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. They’re both charged with felony larceny and misdemeanor counts of first-degree trespassing and vandaliam with damage to real property. Miller was arrested by Alexander County authorities, Caroll was apprehended by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office.
On Saturday, May 1, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to vehicle batteries that were stolen from an address in the Bethlehem Community. The victim provided camera footage of the incident. Further investigation by detectives led to the suspects in this case be

Newton Man Charged With Drug Offenses, Violation Of Parole

52-year-old Paul Everette Lafon of Lafon Road in Newton was arrested last Thursday (May 6) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of methamphetamine along with misdemeanor counts of simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance, simple possession of schedule III controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lafon is also charged with parole violation. He was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $4,000 bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled for May 27.

52-year-old Steve Randall Lowman of Picturesque Lane in Lenoir was arrested Sunday (May 9) by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. Lowman was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $5,000 bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today (May 10).

Newton Man Arrested on Fugitive Warrant from S.C.

27-year-old Zachary Zavon Norris, who lists an address in Lexington, S.C. and is also listed as a homeless person from Newton, was arrested by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers yesterday (May 9) on a felony warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state.
Norris is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office in Lexington County, S.C. on charges of second-degree burglary, grand larceny, and safe-cracking. On May 1 of this year, the suspect allegedly forced entry into a residence in the Lexington area. According the warrant for Norris’ arrest, he took a safe containing cash and broke into another safe in the residence and took cash from that safe. A total of approximately $73,000 was taken.

Greensboro Man Charged With Break-in-Related Offenses In Catawba County

25-year-old Zakirus Wachovia Davis of Greensboro was arrested Thursday (May 6) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of breaking and entering, larceny, and conspire to break or enter a building with felony larceny. He’s also charged with two misdemeanor counts of resisting a public officer and one misdemeanor count of injury to real property.
Following the arrest, Davis was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $55,000 bond. He is no longer listed as an inmate. A District Court appearance was scheduled today (May 7).
