Heroin Possession Among Charges Filed Against Conover Man

26-year-old Kevin Christopher Thorpe of Running Deer Drive NW in Conover was arrested today (February 25) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of heroin along with misdemeanor counts of simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Thorpe was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $6,500 bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled Friday (February 26).

He’s charged on bills of indictment with second-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Cooke was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $55,000 bond. A Superior Court appearance is scheduled Thursday (February 25).

Maiden Man Charged With Firearm Offense, Failure To Appear

35-year-old Toney Ray Jones of Maiden Highway in Maiden was arrested Thursday (February 18) by Maiden Police Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon. In addition, Jones is charged with failure to appear on counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. Jones was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $12,000 bond. District Court dates were scheduled today (February 19) and March 1.
