A mistake by Arsenal Icelandic goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson gifted the visitors a 2-1 lead in the 54th as he let a relatively harmless Riyad Mahrez free-kick through his arms.
Phil Foden added a third, latching onto a ball into the box from Fernandinho and lifting it over the advancing Runarsson.
Aymeric Laporte then headed in a Foden cross to wrap up the win for Pep Guardiola s side as they added to the troubles of the Gunners who are languishing in 15th spot in the Premier League, only four points above the relegation zone.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has lamented his side’s miserable form as Manchester City demolished the North London club 4-1 in the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Tuesday.
City ensured it will be a depressing Christmas for beleaguered Arsenal boss Arteta by condemning his side to a fourth defeat in their last six games in all competitions.
“It’s a hard one to take considering how the game went. This level of opponent, when you give the goals away it makes the game impossible,” Arteta said after the game.

MIKEL ARTETA must be thinking that someone up there has got it in for him as he contemplates a miserable Christmas and an unhappy New Year.
Even his magic touch in the cup competitions has now deserted the bewildered Spaniard who simply doesn’t know where his next win is coming from.
