A Breakdown of COVID-19 Data The 24-hour data increase shows that 2,171 more people have contracted the virus. In addition, there were 17 new deaths. On Saturday, May 23 the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services also announced changes to how COVID-19 testing data is reported to make it more accurate and relevant as the state continues to expand diagnostic testing.

The city and its parks department is holding an open house from 5-9 p.m. Friday, May 21, at the headquarters of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, 150 E. Crosstown Parkway, a news release said. The free event in the public safety facility’s parking lot will feature demonstrations from KDPS and a drive-in movie. The movie will be shown at 7 p.m.. Attendees can also win giveaways from Kzoo Parks that will match the theme of the movie shown, the release said. Kids who bring their helmets and bicycles can have them fitted.
